• Gift finder answers — the answers you give in the questionnaire, and any results you choose to save to your account.
• Favourites — the products you save.
• Marketing preferences — your email address if you opt in to gift ideas and updates.
• Usage data — anonymous analytics about pages viewed and buttons clicked, only if you accept analytics cookies.

How we use it

To create and secure your account, personalise gift recommendations, remember your favourites, send marketing emails where you have opted in, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

Legal basis

We rely on contract for account features, consent for marketing emails and analytics cookies, and legitimate interests for keeping the site secure and functional.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. Data is processed by our hosting, database and email providers on our behalf, and by Google Analytics if you accept analytics cookies. Affiliate retailers only receive the fact that a click came from this site — never your account details.

Retention

Account data is kept while your account is open. Saved questionnaires and favourites are deleted when you delete them or close your account. Marketing records are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, withdraw consent at any time, and object to processing. Email hello@whatdoiget.co.uk and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
